Catalpa Festival: Absolut Connectivity Pavilion

Design, Fabrication/Build, Production

The Absolut pavilion, designed and built for the inaugural Catalpa NYC 2012 festival utilized conical extrusions, rooted in traditional circus form associated with festivity and merrymaking. The trifold form of the pavilion were used to correspond with the three stages present at the festival - reggae, dance tent and main stage. Canvas coloring stretched fabric were also used to represent three different music types played on each stage. The conjoined pavilion modules will used to physically bring all three types of music played at the festival together, creating a space for the fans to socialize, rest and connect.
